Food Review
- Nikko in Whippany, NJ - Nikko has been an area
favorite for many years and I decided to stop by for
dinner. The staff was warm and friendly and
authentically attired. The place was spotless and
the tables were neat and nicely set. The
menu was expansive with everything one would expect from
a Japanese restaurant.
I
went with the Beef Teriyaki which came with rice,
veggies, soup and salad for under 20 dollars which for
Morris County represents a good value. I chose a
ginger dressing for my salad which was refreshing.
The beef was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. I
wasn't wild about the soup but the entire meal was very
fresh and filling but not overly so.
My
guest had the Shrimp Tempura and it was remarked as
delicious. Sushi lovers can enjoy the bar with all
of the traditional favorites. The salad was noted as being very
fresh. Nikko has been an area mainstay for years
and it's easy to see why because it offers a quality product, warm atmosphere and pleasant service.

Food Review - David's Rumba Cafe in Madison, NJ -
Authentic food from El Salvador in Morris County?
Yes, at David's... It's nice to see little
restaurants hang in there and survive and David's has been around
a while
now. Set in a house on a side street just off Main
sits David's with its festive outdoor lights.
Inside,
some pleasant Latin music was playing in a cozy dining
room. I look forward to chips and salsa arriving
at the table when eating Latin food and was disappointed
that none were offered. I chose the Fiesta Chicken
which was fried then covered in a Green Chile sauce with
yellow rice. It was tasty while not being overly
spicy.
My
guest had the Nachos which were found to be very
fresh, traditional and tasty. Overall the
experience was a good one, but not outstanding. The
prices were good and the service was friendly.
It's probably a mistake not to offer fresh chips and
salsa to customers while waiting for their food to be
prepared. Diners will make the
determination on that one, but I'll check out David's
