Divina Ristorante - On a
whim I decided to check out
Bloomfield Avenue in Essex
County for a new place to
try and stumbled upon Divina
Ristorante. The place
wasn't very big but people
were arriving so
it seemed to have a loyal
following. Opening the
menu I was surprised to not
see veal on the menu...
perhaps it was there, but
once I saw the prices for
the chicken dishes, I decided
to limit my selection as my
budget for dinner tonight was
$50.00 for two.
Wanting
to stay on budget for the
evening, salads and desserts
were skipped and I just
made it at $49 and change so
as I'm sure you can tell, it
didn't represent an
exceptional value. To
me, $18.95 for chicken with
sundried tomatoes,
artichokes and mushrooms
seems overly pricey but
that's for you to decide.
$17.95 for Manicotti also on
the pricey side for me.
My
chicken was good but it
seemed to me that it should be
tasty and better than good for that
price but is was nothing
special... at least to
me. On the other hand
my guest raved (best ever)
about the Manicotti
especially the taste and
quality of the home made
pasta. It's a bit of a
mystery to me why the prices
were so high for this
area, but what was evident were all the diners
who looked quite happy,
relaxed and satisfied. - Jersey
