You can't develop character without life experience. The tides of capitalism can give rise to but can also crush the the honest hard working person depending on integrity of others. A leader of company men given the title of president is cast an awesome responsibility to provide leadership for his loyal minions. He can be the instrument whereby hardworking individuals of integrity build happy prosperous lives or the devil in disguise. He must balance the needs of the company so that it's product is valued and competitive. He must make tough calls to thin the ranks when times are tough but must remain compassionate and NEVER take more than he gives. If sacrifice is to be made it should start with the leader. Vast fortunes have been squandered by gutless men who call themselves leaders. Images of company leaders, repackaged with fancy names describing bad situations when companies head down the dark road of every person for themselves. Many so called leaders make off with millions of dollars of undeserved financial credit leaving paths of destruction in their wakes. They can retreat to their ivory towers only to enjoy their money by leaving their guilt at their iron gates. Poor leaders will never be able to look the people they have led in the eyes but a good one will always be able to stand side by side with the people they lead. The world watches and mourns the atrocities of poor leadership as people who have put their trust in a poor leader have been harmed by their lack of integrity. Leadership is born out of character and integrity. Live, learn and grow.
