Pizza in New Jersey - Pizza
is a New Jersey treasure and no place per capita on
earth is it more available, more enjoyed and more talked
about. Pizza in short is deeply engrained in
Jersey culture and New Jersey is the pizza capital of
the world despite what anyone says and despite it being
invented outside NJ. Trying to visit and
review every pizza parlor in New Jersey is a lesson in futility,
because just as we are the most densely populated State
in the USA, so is our pizza parlor concentration.
Everyone from Jersey knows
of our numerous pizza parlor choices and I for one
grew up on Jersey pizza and was at the pizza parlor
every day at lunchtime in high school. There are
thousands of pizza joints in New Jersey and everybody
who likes pizza has an opinion. The bottom
line is that if you grew up on Jersey pizza, you are an
expert and you don't need anyone telling you which place
is better than the next because in all likelihood you
already have your own special "best" place.
Having said that, it is
helpful to get a heads up on a place and I will continue
to include pizza parlors in my NJ
Food Guide reviews.
My money is where my mouth
is with every meal, and I never forget that there are
real people behind the meals I eat trying to survive and
that everything I say is backed with a reason why.
There is always something constructive behind any
criticism an establishment can use to improve.
When I review a place I just
lay it all out there and leave it for you to decide if
you should go. whether it be a pizza joint or a
full course gourmet meal. If a place is
extraordinary I will give it a NJ Food Guide top rating.
Pizza in New Jersey is a treasure born to all of us who
were born in the State and a great treat for those
that moved here and now call NJ home.
It's not fair to call one
pizza "best" because when you do that you
punish other places which are great. Suffice it to
say that the pizza experience in New Jersey is the
"best" in the country because when you want a
good slice chances are quite high that a good one is
just moments away. Good friends, good pizza is a
New Jersey experience that many would call the very
