Dear Members & Visitors,

Welcome to AddisonsDisease.Net - I'm living with addison's disease and so are hundreds of my fellow members at AddisonsDisease.net  The AddisonsDisease.net community was begun on 1/1/02 as a refuge for those living with addison's disease to be able to communicate with others who have the disease and their caregivers.  Today hundreds of patients from around the world are living with addison's disease with much improved wellness by learning through sharing at AddisonsDisease.Net 

Over the years AddisonsDisease.Net has become the perfect companion for doctors, nurses and caregivers because we pick up where doctors leave off by being on the front lines every day.  Members living with addison's disease at AddisonsDisease.Net learn much about managing the disease from their fellow members through firsthand experience which they can bring to their doctor. Members routinely print replies from their fellow members to bring to their doctors which enhances the doctor patient relationship because the doctor now has feedback from a body of knowledge based on hundreds of years of collective firsthand experience with the disease. Members collectively received 1,558,805 (over 1.5 million) support emails since March, 2010.

AddisonsDisease.Net has become the largest most effective resource of its kind and an integral part of the lives of hundreds of members from around the world. The Living with Addison's Disease community which is part of AddisonsDisease.Net has grown to 1,408 members.

I don't like to talk much about myself because AddisonsDisease.Net is about all of us not one person and my founding vision of lifetime bonds for lifetime wellness for members.  It is important to note that I have idiopathic primary addison's disease - complete adrenal insufficiency and I maintain a presence in both AddisonsDisease.Net communities.  I am also a survivor of 3 adrenal crisis events and near death.  Today I am living with addison's disease with more wellness than I could have ever dreamed from those difficult days lying in intensive care fighting for my life.

I hope that if you have addison's disease or care for someone that does or even if you think you might have it that you consider joining AddisonsDisease.Net so that you too can experience what it is like living with Addison's Disease from the people that have it.  Our loving caregivers who help their loved ones every day are also here with years of experience in caring for their child, adolescent, spouse, partner or friend living with addison's disease.
